Putting It All Together

In film production, there are just as many vendors creating content as there are elements used to create the scenes within the film. Because there are few established industry standards, content created by different vendors adds a new level of complexity to the process of digital film integration. A typical project might involve a combination of live footage taken by designated film crews, 35mm film of physical assets for special effects, and computer-generated imagery (CGI) created by third-party post-production houses. These layers of separate content, which will eventually combine to become the final film release, are sent in forms of video and still images to EFILM. EFILM will then scan the negatives and convert all video content into digital form. When completed, EFILM converts all the digitized material back to film. This process is especially difficult because theater screens are considerably larger than those of video monitors and the film medium is far less forgiving.
